Durante la Settimana del Design di Vienna 09, lo studio austriaco mischer'traxler è stato invitato a partecipare ad una manifestazione che vedeva 10 designer coinvolti nella sperimentazione di nuove forme basate su quelle che erano le attività produttive locali. Il loro progetto - 'la natura scientifica dei gioielli' - è statorealizzato in collaborazione con i gioiellieri Rozet & fischmeister: si tratta di un' installazione che re-interpreta la professione diorafo da diverse angolazioni e si apre verso nuovi input. Il concetto alla base dell'opera è la consapevolezza che per fare un gioiello di qualità sono necessari pazienza e precisione, quasi come se fosse una pianta che si sviluppa lentamente. Da qui viene l'idea di sostituire le gemme preziose con semi, i quali verranno letteralmente coltivati, curati e modellati fino a divenire gioielli vivi, pezzi unici la cui forma finale verrà decisa dall'acquirente stesso / During Wien Design Week 2009, austrian studio mischer’traxler were invited to participate in the passionswege series, where 10 designers were brought together with local shops and manufacturers, given an opportunity to experiment, make use of workshops or intervene
in the business' premises. Their project -'the scientific nature of jewellery' was realised together with rozet & fischmeister court jewellers: the installation interprets the profession of goldsmith from various angles and opens up towards new inputs. In fact, to make a beautiful and accurately-made piece of jewellery, it needs time, mindfulness and patience - similar to a grain, which slowly develops and becomes the plant. In this experiment, gemstones are replaced by grains. tenderly cultivated, taken care of and shaped, the seed gradually grows up, becoming the actual 'piece of jewellery'. the owner can cultivate and form the plant to their imagination and experiment with various species
