Un'idea originale per recuperare le vecchie lampadine tradizionali è quela di trasformarli in piccoli giardini o vasi sospesi. Per fare ciò dovete eliminare la base metallica aiutandovi con un seghetto per ferro; usando un cacciavite, e prestando attenzione alle schegge, eliminate il tubicino di vetro ed estraetelo (può servire l'aiuto di una mano ferma e di un cacciavite più grande). Svuotate la lampadina. Per creare dei vasi sospesi, forate all'altezza della vita e passate un fil di ferro.. Here's how: Saw off the bottom of the light bulb screw base using a hacksaw, turning the light bulb evenly. Once the base has been cut, insert a thin screwdriver and break the protruding tip of the glass mount, or stem, that holds the filament (be sure to protect your eyes). Then, using a bigger screwdriver, insert it into the glass socket, and give a quick, hard tap to break off the remainder of the mount. Using a rounded file, enlarge the hole and remove the filament. Your light bulb is now empty. To make a hanging vase, use a gimlet or hole punch to pierce a hole on either side of the light bulb base. Aluminum is very easy to pierce. With a thin piece of wire, create a hanger. Pour in a little water and place a flower in its new home.

Orto portatile / Roll & Grow Vegetable Gardening

Non tutti hanno il famoso pollice verde, soprattutto quando devono realizzare l'orto di casa: quindi, eccovi una soluzione simpatica per tutti quelli che vogliono cimentarsi con l'orto fai-da-te ma non hanno la minima idea da dove cominciare: un giardino di carta da aprire, stendere e lasciar crescere! L'orto, in realta' un pezzo di cartone ondulato assolutamente biodegradabile, ha al suo interno sia le sementi che il fertilizzante e dev'essere solo disposto sul terreno lavorato, coperto con un po' di terriccio e innaffiato regolarmente. Ovviamente, a ciascuna stagione la giusta verdura: avremmo cosi' , tappettini per le erbe aromatiche, per le primizie di primavera e per quelle invernali. L'intenzione del designer e' quella di renderci piu' consapevoli della necessita' di avere una vita piu'sostenibile e meno consumista: " Oggi viviamo in un mondo pervaso da uno stile di vita consumista e, soprattutto, ci hanno fatto credere che possiamo diventare le persone che vogliamo essere, comprando alcuni prodotti. Indipendentemente dalle implicazioni etiche e morali di una questa cultura, non possiamo dimenticare che questo e' il mondo in cui viviamo.
